A million-dollar sale that took place after a long time has given hope to NFT investors.
The NFT sector, which was at the center of the last bull market, was left to its fate after the end of the bull. Even the most valuable NFT collections such as Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC) experienced a drop from hundreds of Ethereum to 15-20 Ethereum.
However, a recent sale gave hope to the NFT market. A piece of the CryptoPunks NFT collection was sold for $16 million.
According to OpenSea data, the piece numbered 7804 from the CryptoPunks collection was sold on March 20th to the address “0x9bc” from the user named “peruggia-v.eth” for 4,850 ETH worth $16 million. The previous owner of the NFT had bought this piece for $7.5 million worth 4,200 ETH in 2021.
This sale went down in history as the second most valuable sale of CryptoPunks. The former owner of the NFT, peruggia-v.eth, commented on the matter, saying that the piece has reached its rightful new owner with the right vision:
An end of an era. After looking around for over a year, I feel I found the right buyer with the right vision to properly elevate this asset.
Another CryptoPunks piece was sold for $16.03 million worth 4,500 ETH at the beginning of March.
